20002 Trailblazer clicking noise 3rd row seats in panel passenger

Resolved Question:

20002 Trailblazer clicking noise 3rd row seats in panel passenger side after start up

You have an actuator in the rear a/c that is stripping. While the actuator is making the noise, change the rear temp setting and the rear mode setting(floor/vent) to see which one affects it . This will help you determine which actuator is bad.

what is an actuator? I checked and it does only click when the air is on the ceiling vents not the floor..about how much does one cost?
Expert:  Dave Nova replied 8 years ago.

The actuator is the electric motor that moves the doors within the a/c case. This takes about an hour and a half to replace. The actuator itself probably costs $60-$100.
