WelcomeCustomer Let me ask you a couple of questions first.

When did you last replace the fuel filter?

What is the mileage on your truck?

Have you had the code read from the truck?

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
I show 23% remaining on the fuel filter on the truck computer. i have 79,200 miles, I have a Bully Dog chip installed on tow/economy. I have not had the code read on the truck.
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 8 years ago.

Ok. You need to get the truck scanned. I expect I know what code it is, but I don't want to speculate until I know for sure. For now, I would start by replacing your fuel filter. The reminder only goes my mileage. It will not know if the filter is plugged from a bad tank of fuel. A part store like Auto Zone will have a code reader. Post the code and I will be happy to help you diagnose it.

Do you think it is the turbo?
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 8 years ago.
I honestly don't think so. I expect the code is a P0087 which is Fuel rail pressure low. When this code sets, the engine will only do 2000 RPM's and have little power. As i said before, need the code to do anything.

The DTC code from my bully dog says PO299
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 8 years ago.
Ok. So it is not the code I thought. Have any of the turbo hoses come off? Is there any other codes?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
I will look at the hoses later today. No other codes
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 8 years ago.
If a hose has come off, then this code will set. I will post the diagnosis for this code after this reply.

which hose am i looking for? Turbo? or where
Expert:  GM Tech (Cam) replied 8 years ago.
You are looking at the charge air cooler hoses. There is one off each side, of the turbo and there is a rubber boot at each end of the hose. See if any have come off. If there is some oil in the hose, that is normal.
