Customer Question

How do you replace a brake booster on 2000 Chevy Malibu? Seems like the fuse box in the engine compartment needs to come out. How do you remove it?

Hello & Welcome,

The removal of the fuse block is listed in the procedure to replace the booster.

It will take several minutes, but I will get the procedures to you.

Hi again,

Here are the procedures as PDF files. You should be able to view these on your computer and print them.

Replace Brake Booster

Replace Air Cleaner

Replace Fuse Block

These should allow you to get the job done. Please let me know if you have more questions.

Take Care, Greg A.

I'm this far, but there seems to be something else hold the box in place besides the tabs in the mounting bracket. I've slightly bent the rails that the fuse box slides into, and I can't figure if its bolted down from underneath.
Found out there's a tab on the bottom of the fuse box that has to be pushed up so the fuse box can be slide out. And its hard to reach.
