Where is the battery physically located in my 2001 Buick LeSabre and how do I get access to remove and replace it?

The battery in your car is actually located under the rear seat. Here is how to access this area.

  • Push in and up on the front of the rear seat cushion.
  • Lift up and out on the seat cushion.
  • Remove the rear seat cushion from the vehicle.

  • Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery.

  • Disconnect the battery positive cable (1) from the battery.

  • Remove the battery vent tube (1) from the battery.

  • Remove the battery retainer bolt and battery retainer.

    I am thinking you are refering to the fuse panel. If you remove the cover, there should be fuses located under there.
