Hello and Welcome to Just answer,


  • Turn OFF all the lamps and accessories.
  • Make sure the ignition switch is in the OFF position.

  • Disconnect the powertrain control module (PCM) wire harness (2) from the battery box cover.
  • Remove the PCM bracket with PCM (1) from the top of the battery box cover.
  • Carefully position the PCM and bracket out of the way.

  • Loosen the screws securing the battery box cover.
  • Remove the battery box cover (1).

  • Loosen the battery negative cable terminal bolt.
  • Remove the battery negative cable from the battery.
  • Loosen the battery positive cable terminal bolt.
  • Disconnect the battery positive cable (2) from the battery.

    Caution: Do not tip the battery over a 45 degree angle or acid could spill causing serious personal injury.

  • Loosen the battery hold down bolt.
  • Remove the battery from the battery box.
