It is probably R-134 not freon in the system. You can get R-134 and refill hoses at Autozone, Walmart and most car parts places.

You really should consider having it checked at a shop. A/C systems are dangerous to work on and there are stiff fine if you get caught releasing any kind of refrigerant into the air.
