Hello..I have a 2000 chevy s10 pick up 2.2l 4cyl.. I would like to get step by step tune up procedures including parts removal and replacement and what parts need to be purchased...Thank you

Hello, and welcome to JA!!! tune up parts that will be needed, spark plugs, and you will need plug wires, if your in the 100,000 miles. fuel filter. and a good cleaning of throttle b ody would be a good idea.

Spark Plug Wire Harness Replacement (2.2L)

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 370382  Size: SH

  1. Disconnect the spark plug wire at each spark plug.
    Twist the boots one-half turn before removing.
    Pull only on the boot or use a tool designed for this purpose in order to remove the wire from each spark plug.

    Object Number: 175522  Size: SH

  2. Disconnect the spark plug wire from the coil.
    Twist each spark plug boot 1/2 turn.
    Pull only on the boot or use a tool designed for this purpose in order to remove the wires from the coil
  • Remove the spark plug wires. Object Number: 14824  Size: SH

  • Loosen each spark plug one or two turns.

    Most spark plug are best removed from wheel wells.

  • Brush or air blast away any dirt from around the spark plugs.
  • Remove the spark plugs one at a time and place each plug in a tray marked with the corresponding cylinder numbers.
  • In-Line Fuel Filter Replacement

    the picture that i have included, is the throttle body, you dont need to remove to clean. just use some good carb cleaner and wipe out with a rag

    hello, there is nothing that needs to be removed to access spark plugs. they are on the drivers side of engine, simply pull off plug wire boots and replace. there is no need to remove anything to replace plug wires either. just pull off wires from coil packs mounted on the right side of egine. and route new wires. i hop this clears up any misunderstanding's
