Has the fuel filter been changed and the fuel pressure been checked? On these cars the cat. converter is known to plug up causing hard or no starts, misfires, loss of power, pinging, etc. It may me worth your while to remove the front oxygen sensor, install an exhaust back pressure tester and check that. If the reading is over 2 psi at 1000 RPM suspect a plugged cat converter.
