My spare tire will not lower on my 2004 Tahoe. The cable continues to lower but the tire only comes down a few inches and hangs there. I cant get enough slack to get the tire un hooked from the bracket it hangs on.
Optional Information: 2004 Chevrolet tahoe 4X4 Z71 5.3Already Tried: raising and lowering the cable a couple of times and shaking and pulling on the tire
Hello, if repeated attempts have been unsuccessful at getting the tire down, you will need to replace the spare tire hoist that cranks the tire up and down for storage. It may be necessary to support the tire so it does not injure anyone when it drops and then cut the cable that secures it. Instructions for hoist replacement below. Thanks

Notice: Use only hand tools to lower and raise the spare tire hoist assembly. Do not use air tools. The use of air tools at high speeds will damage the spare tire hoist assembly.
