The tow rating for your vehicle is rated at 1500LBs. I can definately say that this is most likely conservative. I have seen a 91 S-10 which had about the same tow rating pull a trailer weighing close to 4000 LBs before without a problem. Obviously I wouldn't recommend pulling a trailer that much over the recommended rating but pulling a trailer that weighs around 2000LBs. Is definately within reason. If you need it to pull a vehicle with a tow rope It will also do the job since the weight isn't pushing down on the vehicle. I hope this helps and if you have any other questions pleas ask and I will do my best to answer them for you.
