99 GMC: intermittent problem..Cranks but wont start. Sits for a day

This answer was rated:

99 GMC Jimmy w/ intermittent problem. Cranks but won''t start. Sits for a day or week and then runs like no problem. Recently tuned, distro and plugs are good. Fuel pump is good. Gets a spark when it cranks.
HelloCustomer have you noticed if the security light flashes when it does not start?
Customer: replied 8 years ago.
No trouble lights at all
Okay. If you do not get a security light than I would suspect a bad crank sensor. This sensor commonly goes out and causes a no start condition. It is located behind the crank pulley.
