my husband has a 1990 caprice. when he plugged in the lighter the radio quit and he changed a few fuses now the car will not start. any suggestions
Chevrolet caprice 305
if thats all he did there is a possibility that he removed an engine or ecm fuse(engine control components).Check all the fuse slots & make sure he did not remove one & reinstall it into another slot. A 12 volt test light comes in very handy.Make sur he did not reinstall a bad fuse.

Well ,I am going to say that you may have another problem that had nothing to do with the lighter & fuses, but I would check your previous doings again. When things just happen out of the blue ,after you have done something,it is usually related. That said you need to check the ignition to see if there is spark(at the plugs) when you crank the engine.Remove the filter & housing & check to see if there is injector pulse at the engine(injectors spraying fuel) when the engine is cranked.Use a scanner & see if there are any failure codes set in the computers.
