Hello Tgarafolo, the system has both high pressure and low pressure lines, high on the pressure side, low on the return side. The pressure side can exceed psi at times. If you are getting excess pressure due to a stuck pressures regulator in the pump,or a restriction in the system, it may be possible for r a line to blow. You can test the system, with a gage set up made for testing power steering systems. I will tell you I have never experience a high pressure condition. I know that hydraulic lines can be made up with the correct tools, but for a late model car,I would get the correct replacement,it should be available from an auto parts store or the dealer. Here is the test procedure for the steering system,Good luck,Jerry.
