These later model Radios don't use an unlock code, they have the vehicles VIN number programmed into the radio. The only time they will show "locked" is when the programmed VIN doesn't match that of whats programmed into the BCM. The only way to fix this is with a Tech2 scantool and "relearn" the radio.

The Servce Manager at the GM dealership said I may be able to bypass this and find information on how to do it on the internet????

The radio needs to be programmed to work correctly. These radios are universal and fit a variety of applications (with amp, without amp, speaker packages, regular cab, extended cab, etc....) By having it programmed it will be unlocked and will work correctly in your truck. If its programmed for an amp, the audio outputs will be low and if your truck doesn't have an amp, you will barely be able to hear it.

There is a procedure to bypass SOME radios, it may or may not work on yours, but it only works for that ignition cycle. Once you turn the truck off, you'd have to do it again, if it even works. Here it is:

To TEMPORARILY bypass theftlock do the following
1) Turn key to ACC position ( not run)
2) Wait for "theftlock" screen to appear
3) Pull radio fuse
4) Put radio fuse back in
5) Radio will work as normal until key is turned off or vehicle is started
