The radio needs to be programmed to work correctly. These radios are universal and fit a variety of applications (with amp, without amp, speaker packages, regular cab, extended cab, etc....) By having it programmed it will be unlocked and will work correctly in your truck. If its programmed for an amp, the audio outputs will be low and if your truck doesn't have an amp, you will barely be able to hear it.
There is a procedure to bypass SOME radios, it may or may not work on yours, but it only works for that ignition cycle. Once you turn the truck off, you'd have to do it again, if it even works. Here it is:
To TEMPORARILY bypass theftlock do the following1) Turn key to ACC position ( not run)2) Wait for "theftlock" screen to appear3) Pull radio fuse4) Put radio fuse back in5) Radio will work as normal until key is turned off or vehicle is started
