Customer Question

My 2003 2WD Suburban has a leak. Rain water is getting into car, front passenger side. Leakage flows from under glove compartment, downward, & pools on floor. Local Chevy Dealer & local glass shop checked. It''s not a windshield leak; it''s not A/C leak; windows not leaking either. Local Chevy CANNOT find leak source. Help! My car is drowning every night in the rain!

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

A customer may comment about water leaking from the center roof console caused by a mis-adjusted sunroof glass. The sunroof sits too low in the back, lower than the roof line. The water enters at a D shaped cutout in the sheet metal and will carry along the wire harness, located on the right side of the sunroof, to the center roof console.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Adjust the sunroof glass flush in the front with the roof and the back edge 2 to 3 mm higher than the roof line.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
