Customer there is no fuel pump safety switch on a Chevy, the only vehicles that use that are Ford products.

Any other reason the fuel pump would not kick on?
HiCustomeryou could have an electrical supply problem, fuse relay or ECM.you would have to test for power at the pump ,if no power, you then will have to trace the circuits involved.I would try this first. If you have no test equipment with you, a quick test of the fuel pump would be to hit the bottom of the fuel tank with a rubber mallet or a piece of 2x4 while an assistant attempts to start the engine. Many times this gets a stuck fuel pump to operate, you may even be able to get it home or a shop for repairs. Works at least 75% of the time.Jerry
