Ineed to replace the oil pressure sending unit on my 2003 silverado 5.3 ltre 4x4. 1/2 ton. what is the best way to do this? where is it?

Here is how to do it. You will need a oil sender socket to remove it.

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 684224  Size: SH

  1. If necessary, remove the engine sight shield and air intake hose assy..
  2. Disconnect the oil pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
    Object Number: 260089  Size: SH

  3. Using J 41712 or equivalent, remove the oil pressure sensor.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 260089  Size: SH

  1. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004, (Canadian P/N 10953480), or equivalent, to the threads of the oil pressure sensor.
  2. Using J 41712 or equivalent, install the oil pressure sensor.

    Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure sensor to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  4. If necessary, install the engine sight shield.
