Hi,
My name is***** will assist you.
I am sorry to hear that you are having this issue.Try this please... Tap on the phone icon to make a call, then dial a number and press send, then there will be the on going call on your screen.
From there you should see an icon on the bottom left ooh the call screen box that looks like a squiggly line with an arrow through the middle.. That is the noise reduction feature. Tap on that icon to toggle the feature on/off.

No, not for phone calls. On VIDEOS. I'm going to send you a link to see what I mean... is that okay with you?
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
yes, that will be good. Also let me know the model number of the Kyocera?

Watch the first part of the video. You will hear that when the lady is NOT speaking, the microphone cuts out. When she speaks it cuts in. When she turns on the blow dryer, there is white noise in the background, so it doesn't "gate" out the sound. In the recording industry, they use machines called "noise gates" that clips out unwanted tape hiss and background noises on drum microphones, etc.
This video was taken today on my kyocera phone and I can't find a way to prevent the gating.

It is a Kyocera Hydro Model: C6750
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
okay, thank you give me a few minutes to check on that for you.

Thanks

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I'm still here.
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
okay, are you viewing the video on your computer? The video sounds good on my Lenovo computer.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Yes. On my Lanovo touch screen computer Window 8.1, as well as on my smart phone, chromebook and my Kindle Fire. Audio is the same on all. BAD noise gate. My wife's phone (HTC) doesn't give that problem when recording videos. Only on my kyocera. I have a friend who has a similar problem on an iphone, but nowhere as bad as on my phone.
Did you find any documentation that I can look up???
Any solutions?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Same on my Dell desktop.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I see NO settings on the phone.
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
yes, you are correct. There are no settings on the phone to help with that. I am looking into an app that may help. The other option will be an external mic with the background noise reduction feature. The sound is very hard to edit and work with when it has that type of noise.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
An app would be good. I'm sure an external mic could help, but I don't want to get that elaborate.

Try this one first please, it has a trial version> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ittiam.clearrecordlite&hl=en
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry I was in the kitchen. Let me check out the app...
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Oh no. That won't affect the audio on my videos. That's just a simple audio recorder.
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
Sorry about that. I sent the wrong link>https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sg.ranaz.audioandvideorecorder.lite&hl=en
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Darn it!!!
I installed it and did a test video. It's still gating out! :(
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
okay, sorry to hear that. That app is one of the better apps available. I will check on some more for you.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thank you.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Sorry my computer crashed. I'm back
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
I am still working on finding an app. Thank you for your patience.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Thanks again
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
Hi, unfortunately I have not found another app. I will check on this again for you tomorrow.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
Still no solutions?
Expert:  Randy***** CellTech replied 1 year ago.
no, unfortunately the external mic seems to be the only option. Sorry.
