Resolved Question:

Sony Xperia e15i.
I am trying to hard reset the phone because it won't allow me to update any apps or d/l any new ones. However under Settings>SD card & phone storage there is no option for factory settings reset. I've tried switching off the phone, pressing & holding the L&R buttons beneath the screan and pressing power. That hasn't worked.
I need help please :)

Welcome to JustAnswer.

My nickname is Todd and I will be the expert working with you today to help resolve your problem.

Try this please:
- Turn the power off. If your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is frozen, pull the battery out and reinsert it
- Hold the Left and right buttons located beneath the display
- Press and release the Power button
- Follow the on-screen instructions to hard reset your Xperia X10
All data including third-party applications will be deleted from the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10. Once the wipe is complete, the phone will reboot to its factory fresh state.

Hi Todd,
i've already tried that but with no success.
just to confirm -
*should the SIM be in or out?
*should the SD Card be in or out?
*should I continue to hold the L&R buttons while I press & release the power button? if so, for how long after should I continue to hold down the L&R buttons?

I've tried with the SIM in and out. I've tried with the SD Card in and out. I've tried many variations of pressing/holding etc.
Thanks

- SIM card should be out
- SD card should be in
- Yes, you should continue to hold left and right button. Three button in the same time. Left+Right+Power as long as message to reset appear.
