my iphone has stopped working. screen lights up but no icons, no nothing. what do I do to fix?

No physical shock that I can recall, especially between the time I last used it and when iy stopped working last night.
Hi,Based on the symptoms, most likely the lcd display has failed .. or the main board has issues (rare)Take your iPhone to any Apple store near you and if its in warranty you will get a free repair / replacement.If not in warranty, but a replacement lcd display from Ebay and replace it yourself (goto youtube to watch videos for instructions).
