JA: I'm sorry to hear that. The Veterinarian will know if the cat will be able to digest that. What is the cat's name?
Customer: Dexter and he is about 13 years old
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about Dexter?
Customer: no

Hello my name is***** but you can call me Dr. H, and I am a licensed veterinarian.

I understand that your pet Dexter has not eaten for about 3 days. That is a bit long for a cat to not eat and internal illness is most likely causing his anorexia that should be investigated.

Cats that don't eat become quite problematic because they can quickly develop a condition called "Hepatic Lipidosis" or Fatty liver, where the body breaks down fat stores in the body (due to lack of food and nutritional intake) and stores the fat by-products in the liver, causing severe jaundice, toxins in the bloodstream, and severe illness and sometimes even death. That is why it is very important that

1) Find out what is causing Dexter's illness

2) Treat it Directly

3) Get him eating as soon as possible

Now does Dexter have any history of illness?
What have you tried to feed him thus-far?

Has he had any other symptoms, such as vomiting or diarrhea?

Ok. You can try offering him slightly warmed cans of baby food or another type of canned cat food. Does he normally like tuna? Chicken? Turkey?
