Customer Question

He hisses when I touch the sides of his belly near his hips
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. What is the cat's name and age?
Customer: Scar, 13
JA: Is there anything else important you think the Veterinarian should know about scar?
Customer: He was acting fine an hour or so ago; we just got back from a 5 day trip and we left him alone at home (with food and water) He's been eating and drinking. He used the litter box right after I changed the litter when we got in. The litter smelled very strongly of ammonia.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Do you notice if he passed a small or large volume of urine?

Any chance of a fall or injury?

Any changes to his breathing?

Are his gums pink or pale/white?
