Have Cat Questions? Ask a Cat Vet Online.
Hello, I'm Dr Gary. I've been practicing veterinary medicine since 2007. I look forward to helping with your questions/ concerns.
Sorry for the long wait.
This should not be a big problem. You may end up seeing one of two things. Some cats will get sedate from the increased dose. Others will get a paradoxical reaction and they'll be restless and anxious. These signs will usually last 8-12 hours and then resolve on their own. If the sedation is severe enough, we can treat with IV fluids and symptomatic care. It's not typically needed.
I hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions.
