He seems paralyzed on his back 2 legs. I'm freaking out, No.

Customer Question

He seems paralyzed on his back 2 legs. I'm freaking out
JA: I'm sorry to hear that. Did the cat have a fall?
Customer: No. He's only 4 months. We have had him since 8 weeks
JA: The Veterinarian will ask you more detailed questions to find out what is causing this. It might be a fracture. The Veterinarian will know what to do. What is the cat's name?
Customer: He has had what we thought were multiple issues as he's been putting little to no weight on one leg at a time sporadically. We took him to get neutered 2 weeks ago and when he came back he was not putting weight on his back right leg we waited a couple days It was totally fine. Then today this. Just happened 2 hours ago. But he's been very upset for the past 48 and growling at me and I couldn't figure out why.
JA: Is there anything else the Veterinarian should be aware of about the cat?
Customer: No. I have 5 never ever had this issue.

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you with today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me:

Do the legs feel colder then the front legs?

Can he move the hind legs on his own at all?

If you pinch a back toe, does he look at you like he feels it?

Has he passed any urine or feces since this started?

Does he have a short tail, any known issues when he was born, or chance of injury?

No known issues from birth. He's a northern bobcat. He will not let me touch him

Hi again,

Please do. You can even post to Youtube if you are struggling.

Otherwise, you may need to have someone cover his front half with a thick towel so you can check his back end.

I will keep an eye out for your video.
