My orange cat is approximately 14 yo, has been slow going

Customer Question

My orange cat is approximately 14 yo, has been slow going up/down stairs, and today she didn't eat breakfast (unusual) and can only drag her hind legs two or three steps before dropping to lie down. This has been going on since 7 am and it is now 12:35. What to do?

Hi, this is Dr. Hill. If she is dragging her back legs, then she have have a blood clot to the major vessels going in to her legs. There is not much that you can do at home. It is best to get her in to see your veterinarian as soon as possible. this can be a sign of heart disease. Take care.
