My cat all of a sudden the last couple of weeks won't eat

Customer Question

Hi, my cat all of a sudden the last couple of weeks won't eat much. She normally likes the type wet canned food we buy her, and also LOVES the indoor dry cat food we give her, but lately, she won't even eat that much or many treats. She will drink a little water, but only out of the faucet, not out of her dish. Please help, we love our kitty!!

Hello, my name is***** and I am happy to help you and Shadow. Any time I have a kitty not eating well, I strongly recommend a vet visit and some baseline bloodwork. A kitty not eating well has numerous medical causes, including dental disease, early kidney disease, intestinal parasites, early heart disease, pancreatitis, inflammatory bowel disease, etc. Most of these conditions, if caught early enough, can be easily managed with a food change and sometimes medicine. I am sorry I cannot give you a more specific diagnosis!
