Have Cat Questions? Ask a Cat Vet Online.
I am sorry to hear you are worried about Buffy. My name is Rebecca. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.
There is pretty good chance a twisty tie will pass, in an average sized cat. We worry most about things that are over 6 inches or more. You could take her to a veterinary emergency clinic to induce vomiting to see if the twisty will come back up, if she ate this in the last hour. If it is longer than an hour, I would just monitor her. As long as she is not vomiting, and is eating, she is OK. The twisty may pass in a few days to up to a week.
You can always have an Xray taken to see where it is, and if it is moving through.
