I am sorry to hear you are worried about Baloo. I am worried, too, from your description. My name is Rebecca. I am a veterinarian and will do my best to help.

How long has he been like this? How long since he last ate?

If you look at his gums, do they look pink or pale in appearance?

There are many things that could make a young cat have labored breathing, and loss of appetite: viral infections (feline leukemia in particular); injury to his chest (could he have been hit by a car?); fluid in the lungs; feline asthma. If his gums look pale to you, this may be an emergency. Is there an emergency clinic open near you?

Can he breathe with his mouth closed, or does he have pant with an open mouth to breathe?

How is Baloo doing?

I hope you were able to see what I sent. Let me know if I can answer anything else. Please let me know how he is doing and if this was helpful.
