My 17-year-old cat has had iris melanosis years. This

Customer Question

My 17-year-old cat has had iris melanosis for two years. This has just led to glaucoma. Images and ultrasound at a first-class clinic suggest no metastasis. Several studies refer to laser ablation of the neoplastic tissue rather than removal of the eye -- but no one cites a clinic or an individual who has experience in this. Who, in the USA, has this experience? Who might -- if it is appropriate -- offer this service?

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. Please take a look at this site: www.acvo.org for a specialist in your area. The use of lasers has been commonplace in specialist veterinary ophthalmologist practices for many years.
