Just this evening my cat would not eat her wet food

Customer Question

Just this evening my cat would not eat her wet food for which she normally cries and cries. I thought it might be bad. So I removed it. She did not care. Unusual. Later she darted out of my lap and flew across the room. Unusual. I tried to give her a few treats and she would not eat them. I came to bed, opened the window which is her favorite thing and she bolted after about 15 minutes. Now she is hiding. She never hides and is always in my lap or next to me. I know something is wrong. Can you help me?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your wee one’s situation, and wanted to help.Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner, but can you tell me: Any retching, gagging, lip licking or vomiting? Can she drink, pass normal urine and stool?Any changes to her breathing, coughing, sneezing, or congestion? Are her gums pink or pale/white? Moist or sticky? If you press on her belly, her back and legs; does she have any discomfort, tenderness, or tensing?Could she have eaten something she should not have (ie bones, toys, plants, chemicals, etc)?
