My 10 week old kitten is sneezing and her eyes are watering

Customer Question

My 10 week old kitten is sneezing and her eyes are watering with one eye corner showing. I have an eye cream from the vet and something called Clin drops. She still eats well. Is there any other thing I can do

Brenda, in most cases, cats such as Velvet are suffering from the feline herpesvirus (FHV-1). We also see bacterial infections in the form of Chlamydophila and Mycoplasma. Thankfully these cats will remiss unaided within 1-3 weeks in the great majority of cases. I rarely treat them with antibiotics as long as they continue eating and drinking. The eye cream you have might be of value if those bacteria are present. What is it called, please? I would avoid clindamycin if only because it too often causes diarrhea in cats.
