I am sorry to hear about your cat Boogie's urinary issues. Bloody urine (hematuria) in cats can be a complex issue to treat and is not as straight forward as we would like for them to be. Honestly I have yet to treat a patient where just 1 recommendation was enough to control symptoms of Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD) or feline urological syndrome as it is called. It does appear that you have already treated Boogie for a urinary tract infection (white blood cells and bacteria found on urinalysis), however you are still having issues controlling his symptoms. I have lots of tips and information to give on this topic but first I would like to know more about what your pets current status is, then I will get to the recommendations I have moving forward with his care. 1) How long was Boogie fed the urinary diet? Is he still on it now?2) Is Boogie currently free of bacteria in the bladder (UTI) with a clean urinalysis report?4) What medications or supplements is Boogie currently on?5) Do you have other cats in the home? And if so how many litter boxes do you have set up and do the cats get along?- Dr. H
