My cat had her first kitten around noon yesterday, and we just found her second one dead. What should I do

I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. You need to dispose of the dead kitten and have Ruby checked by her vet to see if there are more kittens inside her that haven't been delivered. Thankfully, dystocia (difficult birth) is uncommon (incidence 0.22% in cats). Normal parturition can take greater than 24 hours. The median parturition length is ~ 8 hours with a range of 4-42 hours. She had a third one! In the middle of the night. Seems to be smaller. But alive!! She's doing good. Since I've been up.. Eating and drinking.. Should I take her to the vet?
