My 9 year old diabetic cat has been crying a lot lately & I

Customer Question

My 9 year old diabetic cat has been crying a lot lately & I just noticed one of his eyes is yellow w red specks around the edge. I'm not 100% sure they weren't always 2 different colors but I just panic when I notice anything that might be off. I love my cats more than life & I know they both need to see a vet soon. I've had them both 9 years. But they're both diabetic & I'm thousands in debt since they were diagnosed last year. I'm living on a waitress salary & I just can't take them right now. Is there anything you can tell me that would help?

Hello & welcome, I am Dr. B, a licensed veterinarian and I would like to help you today. I do apologize that your question was not answered before. Different experts come online at various times; I just came online, read about your situation, and wanted to help.

Again I do apologize that my colleagues could not aid you sooner. If you would still like assistance, can you tell me:

Is Nutters uncomfortable with the eye?

Any squinting, tearing, rubbing, or discharges from it?

Can you take a photo of this? If you can do so, this will let me see what you are seeing. To post them online, you can use the paperclip icon on the tool bar above your text box. Or if you can't see that on your computer/phone, then you can post them on any other site (ie Flickr, Photobucket, imgur, etc) and paste the web link here for me to check.
