My 7 month old male kitten is very lethargic this evening.

Customer Question

Customer: My name is***** 7 month old male kitten is very lethargic this evening. He was fine this morning, and is usually very active and enjoys his food. Tonight? No appetite. Feels warm to the touch. I found some clear fluid on the floor; looks like he may have vomited. His sister is fine. I've been away at work all day so I don't know when this started.
JA: Thanks. Can you give me any more details about your issue?
Customer: He's very quiet and removed...just lays very still.
JA: OK got it. Last thing — JustAnswer charges a fee (generally around $19) to post your type of question to Cat Veterinary Experts (you only pay if satisfied). There are a couple customers ahead of you. Are you willing to wait a bit?
Customer: sure...meanwhile I'll call the emergency vet. They're very far away, so I hope it's not necessary. But my local vet doesn't open until Monday a.m.
JA: OK. Now I'm going to take you to a page to place a secure deposit with JustAnswer. Don't worry, this chat is saved. After that, we will finish helping you.

My 7 month old cat is usually VERY active, loving, great appetite. He was fine this a.m. I got home from work to find him very lethargic and with no appetite. Feels warm. Just lays there. Found a puddle of clear vomit on the floor.

How?
Expert:  brisadog replied 1 year ago.

Use some lubricant (vaseline, KY jelly etc) on the end of the digital thermometer (do not use a mercury thermometer). Then insert about 1/4-1/2 inch into the rectum.
