I found my cat with a glue trap with mouse still on it

Customer Question

Hi. I found my cat with a glue trap with mouse still on it alive. Is he in danger of getting sick?? I seperated him from it but don't know how long he found it for.

Hi, I can help you with your question today.

Expert:  brisadog replied 1 year ago.

No, this is not dangerous. The traps are non-toxic glue. The only concern is ingestion of bits of the plastic tray causing foreign body problems.

Expert:  brisadog replied 1 year ago.

Did he eat any of the tray?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I don't think so. Do you think he got anything from the mouse itself?
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The mouse was still squirming when I found it on the tray.

No, it is unlikely that Marty got anything from the mouse itself. If you would like to be proactive, you can get him a dose of dewormer from your vet (like Profender). Aside from intestinal parasites, it is unlikely that he could have been infected by anything else such as rabies.
