We have discovered our long-haired cat has an ingrown claw.

Customer Question

We have discovered our long-haired cat has an ingrown claw. It is Saturday night and no where close to us has hours til Monday. Will it be ok to wait until then? Or should we try to get him to an emergency vet?

Aloha! You're speaking with Dr. Michael Salkin
I'm sorry that your question wasn't answered in a timely manner. An ingrown claw is painful but doesn't constitute an emergency. Administering aspirin (NOT ACETAMINOPHEN) at a dose of 10 mg/lb once should suffice until Fritz can be seen by his vet tomorrow. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.
