Customer Question

My adult cat started getting scabs over his entire body. The ends of his paws then started showing signs of deteriation. This has affected him for almost 9 months. I have taken him to our Vet and spent over $2000.00 but he just gave him antibiotics and steriods which has not cured or reversed his symtoms. I believe the same sores covering his body are affecting his mouth and throat. He has lost a lot of weight naturally. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm sorry to hear of this with Black Baby. If ever there were a patient whose skin needs to be biopsied, BB is that patient. I need you to clarify what "paws ...showing signs of deterioration" implies, please. My differential diagnoses includes the eosinophilic dermatitis complex and autoimmune skin disease such as the pemphigus complex. If his mouth and throat are also involved, pemphigus vulgaris needs to be considered. Biopsy is essential in order to differentiate these disorders. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

My sister Candace owns Black Baby & does not have her own email or computer so she uses my name. I am relating messages. Payment however was from her.
Just gave her your excellent advice yesterday & she will follow up with testing with her vet this week.
Will be in touch if she has addtional questions. Meanwhile can we turn off the flood of emails?
