My cat has started breathing very fast and making noises

Customer Question

Hi My cat has started breathing very fast and making noises as though she is trying to regurgitate a fur ball. She has eaten some cat treats. Any ideas?

Hello, my name is***** and I have over 20 years of experience as a veterinarian. I am sorry to hear that your girl Kizzy is breathing rapidly and behaving as if she is trying to regurgitate a fur ball.
I have some questions for you.
Did this come on very suddenly?
Was this immediately after eating the treats?
Is she able to eat or drink any thing now?
Does she look like the kitty in the following video link? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOKp3bbWpZ8
Has she ever done anything like this before?
Does she have any health issues (especially a history of asthma, dental disease or heart disease)?
Thanks for your patience with my questions, the answers will help me guide you.
