Customer Question

Just gave my cat prescribed dose of omeprazole and 5mg of prednisolone. He's drooling and doesn't look like he feels well at all. Anything I should do? It's the evening here and cannot call my vet until tomorrow.
THANKS

Neither of those drugs will cause peracute (sudden) toxicity and so I would conjecture that Winston is tasting one of the drugs (prednisolone is quite bitter) and drooling for that reason. I recommend rinsing his mouth out with water by using a small poultry baster or eyedropper. If I'm correct, Winston should normalize quickly. Please respond with further questions or concerns if you wish.

You're quite welcome. I can't set a follow up in this venue and so would appreciate your returning with an update - even after rating - at your convenience.
