Hi, I hope I can help with your question and do let me know if you have any queries or questions regarding my answer/advice. These can be tricky and it is very easy to leave the mouth parts in the skin. You can either apply things to encourage the tick to drop off or try to manually twist it off. Daubing vaseline around the point of attachment can stop the oxygen supply to the tick and make it drop off. Also alcohol (vodka) can be dropped on to the area of attachment causing the tick to drop off. If you decide to try removing it, or if the above fails. Do not pull it out, you will need to twist the tick around whilst applying gentle traction, this is the best technique to avoid snapping it. Grasping as much of the tick as you can and slowly turning it using the point of attachment as the turning point whilst gently pulling. If it snaps and the head parts are left then a local reaction may occur and a vet check may be needed and the foreign material picked out. Good luck and I hope this helps Regards XXXXXDan41127.4547170486
