Drew :

Hello, welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian, and I'll be happy to help you in any way I can.

Drew :

There is nothing that will safely cause a cat to sleep for 24 hours.

Drew :

Anxiety during travel can be reduced with the use of prescription sedatives and anti anxiety medicines, but it is incorrect to think that Spunk can safely be given enough drugs to cause 24 hours of sleep.

Drew :

Drugs such as acepromazine, alprazolam, and others, can be used alone or in combination, and will reduce anxiety and agitation. Your vet can prescribe these medications for Spunk.

Customer :

I have 10mg valium, can I use that, if so, what dose per pound?

Drew :

Oral valium isn't recommended, since there are reports of it causing severe necrosis of the liver in cats.

Drew :

such effects are rare, but most vets will shy away from using it, because of this.
