Optional Information: Type of Animal: tabby cat Gender: Male Age: 8 yrs Name of Cat: Aldo Already Tried: I have given him petromalt now and again....seems to help....but, he still vomits every few weeks...
Welcome to JustAnswer! I am a licensed veterinarian and would be glad to help!
Is he a long haired cat?
How often are you giving the petromalt?
He is a short hair tabby....once, every few weeks....
If the hairballs are more concerning, you can give the petromalt more often.
Moreover - There are also many over the counter diets that are marketed as hairball diets, such as Hills Hairball Formula - CLICK HERE
Ok...I'm much more concerned with the foamy pink vomit.....most of the time it is clear...but, could this be blood....??? Is there any diet ....or food to settle his stomach...that I could give him that will help with this up set...?
Hello...Are you still there...?
For hydration you can either use water, or Pedialyte for hydration and electrolytes (LINK HERE).Some veterinarians also consider antacids for stomach upset such as Pepcid A/C (LINK HERE) Probiotics (EXAMPLE HERE or HERE) can be considered as well.
Ok...I will look at what you suggest.....so, I don't need to rush out to the Vet about the foamy pink vomit...?
If there is more vomiting - yes - this should be evaluated.
Ok...I will watch him for the next few days....Thanks so much for your help...!
You are very welcome!
