My cat has been prescribed Millipred in addition to a bronchodilator

Resolved Question:

My cat has been prescribed Millipred in addition to a bronchodilator to eliminate her coughing. I accidentally gave her 2 doses tonight, each 5 mg, when I should've only given her one. What should I do?

Hi there,

A single overdose of prednisolone should not be cause for concern, particularly in cats. They do not tend to show any adverse effects to the drug, and generally adverse effects are only seen with long-term administration. Continue her normal dosing as prescribed tomorrow and she should be just fine.

Hope that helps! Please let me know if you have any other questions.
