Will the 20 mule team borax harm my cat. I found her licking

Customer Question

Will the 20 mule team borax harm my cat. I found her licking herself on her legs with licking up the borax and salt that was laid down? Thank you for your time.

Borax contains sodium borate which is a mild stomach/intestinal irritant. Licking the borax may cause some temporary irritation of the mouth and stomach lining, but should not cause any serious or long term damage. Please watch for vomiting, excessive salivation, refusal to eat and lethargy and if this occurs, have your cat checked out by your vet.

Hope this was helpful; please let me know if you have any other questions.
