Hi Mydonnad,
This is an information request, to help me answer your question.

Are you concerned about your cats eating the beetles, or being stung or bitten by the beetles?

Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I am concerned about carpet beetles only being a threat to my cat so I would say all of the above

I looked this up, since I do not deal with these bugs in my part of the world (dry desert Southwest). They pose no threat to the cat in any way that I could find.

The only reference to harming the cats is if you try to kill them with an insecticide that is harmful to cats, so if you are going to use a pesticide, you need to be careful. The chemical I found that works against these bugs is called Deltamethrin. It is safe around the cats, once it is completely dried, and if used according to label directions, and properly diluted.   Hope this helps, Rebecca
