Ihave over 15 years in client-server support with many certifications. I recently went back to school and graduated with a Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice. Ideally, I would like to work in electronic/computer forensics. What is the leading certification for this trade. Where might I start to learn the specifics? I would be willing to volunteer and/or intern just to learn. Thanks!

Thanks for your help. Is there a way I could change it to another category? It may be better in Law or even the computer area. Or do I need to just re-ask in those areas? Thanks!

Good morning, I have found some resources that should help in your quest to become a computer forensic scientist. This firsts resource just gives you an overview of the computer forensic career and what work would be like. Very informational. http://www.us-cert.gov/reading_room/forensics.pdfThis resources is a website gathering place for current and potential scientist. I saw job postings, blog posts, and forums where you can talk to other people who are also in this field. http://www.computerforensicsworld.com/dThe last resource is from the occupational outlook handbook which is a government publication posted online. You can visit www.bls.gov/ooh to investigate other careers avenues if you would like. http://www.bls.gov/ooh/life-physical-and-social-science/forensic-science-technicians.htmI think with these three resources you should be able to find out just anything you want to know about the best path to fulfilling your career dreams. Best of luck and please don't hesitate to ask more questions just add my name to the question.KateB
