It depends on what skills you have but if you do computer work. www.rentacoder.com or www.elance.com, www.guru.com are good places to look for projects. or do searches on www.dice.com

You may be in a good position to do business on ebay if you have any contacts in wholesale supplies from your years as a truck driver.
What I found in setting up for ebay sales was that having a paypal account tied to a bank account helped a lot in getting sales. I set up a separate account to do that so I could keep track of things.
You can have USPS or UPS or FEDEX pick up packages at your home so you wouldn't even have to go to the post office if that was impossible for you to do to ship things.
I'm also finding answering questions here a source of some income. Check the categories and see if there is anything you might be comfortable answering!
Some people are also doing OK running blogs online. You might find that fun to do. Here is one of many sites on getting started with a blog

Hope this helps you!

Some other opitions would be to start a home business in the debt collection or job recruitment industries or do customer service.

Depending on what your hobbies are you might be able to do consultant work.

Reply to NHolmes's Post: What is Blogging?
Expert:  NancyH replied 11 years ago.
On the Internet, a blog (short for weblog) is a personal journal that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or reflect the purpose of the Web site that hosts the blog. Topics sometimes include brief philosophical musings, commentary on Internet and other social issues, and links to other sites the author favors. The essential characteristics of the blog are its journal form, typically a new entry each day, and its informal style.
The author of a blog is often referred to as a blogger. Many blogs syndicate their content to subscribers using RSS, a popular content distribution tool.

As you were a trucker I can see you doing a 'rules of the road' type blog or perhaps something else you are interested in.
The link I gave you was for getting started doing it.

I'm not sure if you are talking about blogging or not. That can be started up very inexpensively and there may even be free sites out there to get you started. Here is one that says it has free blog space

Then I suggest you talk to temp agencies such as Manpower or Kelly and see if they have any home jobs open.
Sales on EBAY is a big job for many. Working here provides some income. Blogging is making some people big bucks.
You should post a resume on Monster stating the kind of work you are looking for - its free to do and maybe someone will find you!
