I am 48 and was just diagnosed with diastolic disfunction stage 2. I'm trying to lose weight and my blood pressure is good. My heart rate just still goes up over 100 when walking doing chores, etc. what can I do to improve this diagnosis? Thanks Sonja benton

Thank you for your question, in most cases cause of diastolic dysfunction is stiffening of heart muscles which can happen in undiagnosed high blood pressure, previous valvular disease, idiopathic or unknown cause in 50% of cases.Only medicine that have shown to improve the outcome in this case are nebivilol starting at 5mg per day this will also help improve the heart rate, second medicine is diuretic like epleronone ... these two are best know medicine which can improve the heart function.
