Ever since I first read about a footballer dying from SADS

Customer Question

Ever since I first read about a footballer dying from SADS 8 years ago I have suffered terrible anxiety and panic attacks thinking this will happen to me. Over the past 18 months its got to a point where this anxiety has taken over my life because of this fear, any little pain or sensation I get turns into a panic attack or what I believe to be an under lying heart problem that will kill me. I have had an ECG and the test was clear but I am getting attacks where it feels like I cant breathe or feels like my heart stopped. Doctors have told me time and time again it is anxiety. As far as I know there is no family history of heart problems but I cant help but think that I 100% have a cardiomyopathy or ion channelopathy. I try to reasure myself that I'm fine but can never get this into my head, maybe you could help?

Optional Information:
Person's Gender: Male
Person's Age: 29

Already Tried:
I have tried CBT to cure anxiety but doesn't work as my anxiety always reverts back to the fact I believe I have a serious underlying heart condition.

simply use reply

Customer replied298 days and 1 hours ago.

Is it likely that I could have an Ion channelopathy or cardiomyopathy even though my ECG results came back negative or can I put the sensations I am still getting down to Anxiety? Also are these heart conditions that can lead to sudden death common in people with no family history of the conditions?

No it it not likely all.

However, magnesium deficiency will affect anxiety levels.
It can also cause palpitations and heart sensations.

Sudden death is not common at all without a family history.

And if you have a normal EKG and echocardiogram..unheard of.

Let me know if you have further questions.
